鈴木隆は東京芸術大学大学院美術学部在籍中彫刻を制作し、大橋賞、ジャパン・エンバ現代美術展大賞、ヘンリー・ムーア大賞展佳作賞を受賞し、2000年には美ヶ原高原美術館、現代彫刻の展望ー時間の記憶ー「TUES2000」に招待出展する。ほぼ同時期にドイツ、スイスでの滞在制作の機会に彫刻制作によって培われた空間意識を持ちながら、平面的な作品に表現の場を求め、独自の作品展開を模索し徐々に平面性を持った作品を製作し始める。 今回の２期の展示は、前回のスカーレット色から脱し独自の「赤のレイヤー」の展開による展示になります。一見同色の赤に見える各作品は僅かな異なるメディウムの配合と塗り重ね（レイヤー）により各々固有の赤色が施されている。また、平面的な作品でありながら、鈴木が蓄積してきた彫刻制作による空間の意識が充満した展示となり、尚且つ、1点1点が作品の大きさに関わらず、力強い物質的な存在感を醸し出しています。
Takashi Suzuki studied a sculpture at the Tokyo University of the Arts. While he was at school, he did himself justice to the talent as a sculptor and won Ohashi Prize, Japan Emba Contemporary Art exhibition award and Henry Moore award in Japan. This exhibition consists the works of his transition period 2003-2007. He found out new his original color "red" instead of scarlet color he used formerly. Seemingly each work looks like the same red color, but each has a slightly different red by using several kind of mediums. In addition, the installation gives us some feeling of a unified space and it is created definitely by his accumulated achievements as a sculptor. And each work has a strong power as object regardless of the size.
